A Typical Day in Venice

I love Venice Beach…actually I love people watching on Venice Beach.  I hope that for those that had an extra long weekend it was filled with lots of family time and good food and that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I’ll be sharing some images from Venice Beach this week. This 3 mile stretch of beach in L.A. is home to street performers, bodybuilders, rollerbladers, skateboarders, graffiti artists, fortune tellers, funky shops and lots of tourists. It’s a great day to spend an afternoon and if the boardwalk gets to be too much then find a spot on the sand and enjoy the ocean breeze and the beautiful view of the pacific.

  1. Fun image Edith! It reminds me of some of those very colorful jigsaw puzzles!

  2. The intense color makes for an image that is more animated than real.

  3. That is funky! I agree with Tina… it would make a great jigsaw puzzle.

  7. I love people who are bold enough to take HDR to this level!

    • LOL Thank you Gregory. I know it is bold and for most shots I wouldn’t take it this far but I really wanted to make this look a bit whimsical given the nature of the subject.

All of the times that I have been to California (and that is a lot), I have never been to Venice Beach. Thanks for showing me a slice of what I missed. Looks like a crazy place.

  15. Venice, I thought – that doesn’t look much like Venice. Then I got it – Venice Beach! It’s a senior moment, Edith! Wow – that’s how I remember it when we passed through. The processing captures the vibrancy of this place.

  17. Your picture makes it clear that the Venice in California is as much another country as the Venice in Italy.
