The Duomo at Dusk
I had posted a shot of The Duomo while in Florence (you can click here to see it) but to really get the the entire building into the frame there’s no better place then from the Piazzale Michelangelo.
Situated on a hill just south of the Arno river, Piazzale Michelangelo is a square dedicated to Michelangelo. A copy of David stands high in the middle of the square. The piazzale offers panoramic views of the city and is the perfect place to set up your camera, sit on the stairs with a bottle of wine and wait for the sun to set…which is exactly what we did.

Wonderful shot, Edit. Lots of detail and nicely processed.

Thanks Rob. Yes the views from this square are unbelievable. My next post will be a wider angle where you can see the whole city and river.

Beautiful!! That is my favorite place in Florence. I could sit there for hours looking at the city. Maybe its me, but it looks like the photo is upward slanting to the left a tad. Maybe its that or the fact that I am a bit hungover now and not seeing that straight. 🙂
