Badlands
Project 52 – Entry #20
I’m always amazed when I discover new places to photograph that are only a short drive away from home. A good friend of mine and photographer, Elliot Sylman suggested we go out to the Cheltenham Badlands at sunrise for a photo shoot. Given the beautiful weather we had this weekend it was a perfect morning to be out taking pictures. Even better was the fact that the leaves have now turned and are in their full colorful glory. I’m so glad we got there early. By the time we were putting away our gear, at about 8:30am, a tour bus had rolled in.

Fantastic Edith!!! I love this just the way it is. But… I would like to see what it looks like pumping up the exposure a tad, adding a grad filter to the left, and upping the contrast a tad. Just suggestions!! I still love the image! Well done!
I love finding little treasures so close to home. The ones I tend to find are 2000+ year old Roman ruins 🙂

Beauty of a shot, Edit. This is quite a place, and close to your home as well. I would be hittng this spot hard. 😉 Nice to have wrapped up before the bus arrived and the tourist ruined the scene.

Very cool landscape Edith. It reminds me of a mogul ski run… just without the snow.

How incredible! Love the processing you’ve used here, Edith, it almost takes on a painterly effect here. Wonderful landscape, my friend, top drawer!

Extraordinary landscape. Someone used the term ‘Painterly’. That’s absolutely right. This has a softness about it that suits the season. I just want to google this place and find out more about it. Great find, Edith

What an amazing landscape, I’ve never seen anything quite like that before. Nice soft muted colours and processing gives this a very painterly feel.

Wonderful image, love it. I arrived very late in the day and missed that shot because the sun was too low. Here is my interpretation:
