Visit Rome – A Vintage Travel Poster
Project 52 Entry #22
I have always loved vintage travel posters so I decided to try my hand at creating one with a shot I took in Italy this past summer. This image was taken while I was standing at the top of the Spanish Steps. This was one exposure which I tonemapped in Photomatix Pro. I then brought it into PhotoShop and used Topaz B&W Effects applying the simplify effect and then adjusting tones to get a vintage look. So what do think? Want to visit Rome?
That’s a really great image Edith. Love the leading line and the processing is spot on! I like the poster too. Wonderful idea and execution.

You pulled this off, Edith. Very well done. If I may add a suggestion, I would straighten the vertical lines just a tad to the right. Its just my opinion though.

Edith; I really like shots from above like this one and the tone gives the picture a warmth that colour or b/w couldn’t . Interesting what Jan Winther mentioned as I would never have noticed. Gerry
