Montreal Lights
Project 52 Entry #28
We were in Montreal this past weekend for my son’s hockey tournament and stayed downtown at the Chateau Champlain. In anticipation of our weekend getaway I decided to rent a fisheye lens which I’ve always wanted to try out. This is the view of downtown from our hotel room. The Fisheye was the Canon 15mm…let me know what you think.

What a beautiful night cityscape here Edith, I love that hint of blue at the top of the frame!

I think it turned out extremely well Edith. I one how the fisheye distorts the image. Adds interest to the scene.

Love the color transition in the background and how the city lights play against it! Good stuff Edith!

Outstanding work, Edith. Being fisheye crazy, I’m probably biased here, but this is excellent. Nice wide shot and slight curvature to the buildings = winner!
You’re probably hooked now huh? LOL

Wowsers, Edith, that’s awesome! Mrs. Toad originally hails from this part of the world, I know she will be delighted to see this shot! Great capture, my friend.

I think you did a fine job with that Fisheye. I have never shot one, although would like to rent one and try it out sometime. What did you think about the renting process? How long do you get it for?

Thanks Adam. The renting process was very easy. One of the big camera store chains here in Toronto, Henry’s, rents equipment through a subsidary. You order the lens or equipment you want and they will deliver it to a store close to you. It was an easy process. I rented the fisheye just for the weekend but I’m thinking of renting the Canon 70 – 300 L for a week in January when we go to Quebec City.
