The Dance Studio
It’s Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada and we’ve had exceptional weather all weekend. I wish I can say that I got out to shoot but I didn’t. I took a much needed break and enjoyed time with the family. Hopefully I’ll get out today (once I’ve finished planting some flowers in the backyard) and do a little photowalk.
I think I’ve mentioned that I’m a member of the Toronto Digital Photography Club. The club was asked by the community centre where we have our regular meetings, to photograph the building, which is relatively new. This is one of the images from that shoot showing the 2nd floor dance studio on the left with a view of the outside.
The image was processed in Photoshop and then converted to monochrome with Topaz B&W Effects. You can receive 15% off any Topaz product by using the code “ELPHOTO”

Great shot and I like the way you can see someone else taken a shot outside.

Very cool. I like the processing and all of the lines. So you’re a fan of Topaz BW? Have you ever tried Silver Efex Pro2? I have both but haven’t tried Topaz since SEP2 is pretty great.

Thanks David. I am a fan of Topaz products. I haven’t tried Silver Efex Pro. I keep meaning to but I have to tell you I really Topaz B&W Effects and the price difference between it and SEP2 is huge.

I like this Edith, although I’m not totally sure why. At first all of the lines in the window frames were a little confusing but the more I looked at the image the better the structure of it all appeared. One this I was convinced about from the get-go is that i really like the processing.

I like the convergence of the lines of lines. And then there is that figure outside. That is such an important ingredient in my opinion. What did the club think of it?

Thanks Andy. The club hasn’t seen it yet. I just submitted it over the weekend so I’ll let you know what feedback I get.
