The Skipper
As a follow-up to yesterday’s post on The Margaret Todd here’s a shot of our very relaxed skipper at the helm (is that what it’s called or have I been watching too much Star Trek?) of the Margaret Todd.

Great shot with wonderful light. Showing the Skipper with the wheel leading to him makes this very nice, Edith.

Great follow-up to yesterday’s post Edith. Terrific processing. I wonder how many times he has sailed that ship.

I like the human interest here. It tells a story that is so often missing without the inclusion of someone in the frame.

A really nice shot. Great composition and beautiful colours. I like that you have placed the skipper all over to the left and he is looking out of the picture – which would usually be breaking the “rules”. But in this case it opens up for imagining all he has seen and experienced at the sea. Usually HDR flattens a picture but in this case it turns the element into backdrops on a scene, which is really interesting. And it gives the photo a painterly quality.
