Towards the Water

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was in Montreal over the weekend for a family function and I did manage to grab some shots while I was there but I’ll share those with you a little later in the week.

In the mean time here’s an image from my jaunt to Muskoka a couple of weeks ago. This was taken while exploring the town of Huntsville.

  1. Great shot Edith!! Did you use HDR software for this shot because the sky and trees are perfect without the alley being dark? Just curious :).

    • Thanks Cindy. This is a HDR. I used 3 different exposures and used Photomatix to tone map them. It did a great job in the alley and brick but I wasn’t happy with the sky so I then used the bracket that was exposed correctly for the sky and in Photoshop used a layer mask.

  4. Great shot, Edith. The classic leading lines draw attention to the details in middle and background. And I really like the fall colors. Nice one!

  15. Great eye in composing this shot, Edith. The lone person in the background adds to the image very nicely. Love the colors in the background and how the alleyway leads the eye.

  18. Totally awesome. Love the textures in the brickwork and how it leads the viewer right down the street. Great colors in those trees at the end. Top drawer, Edith!
