Portland Wharf
Brrr…it was a cold weekend in Toronto. We didn’t get any snow in the city but winter was definitely in the air.
I had a client who contacted me over the weekend who was interested in a couple of my images but wanted to know if I could convert them to B&W. I was more than happy to oblige and have added them to the gallery which you can see here.
I also spent some time over the weekend trying to catch up on processing my images. I’m a little backlogged but I’m getting there. This image was taken this summer in Portland. This is one of the wharf’s where the lobster fishermen come in to deliver their catch.
This image was processed in Photoshop and converted to B&W using Topaz Black & White Effects. If you haven’t tried Topaz B&W Effects you can find it here. Remember you can 15% on all Topaz products when you use the code “ELPhoto”
Click on the image to enlarge (it really looks better) or to Purchase a Print.
I recognize that location Edith. Love the tones in this wonderful B&W

You can hear the gulls in the air and smell the fresh fish while the waves knock boats around. Lovely shot.

Perfect tones, Edith. I really appreciate the artistry in this since I’ve been revisiting lots of images for monochrome conversions. This one’s a real beauty.

I feel like this is the set of a movie and Spencer Tracy could walk right out of one of those buildings and start working on “his” boat…just awesome 🙂

Easy to see why your client would love this one in B&W! Those great rippling reflections in the sides of the boat’s hulls are wonderful Edith! As are all the incredible details that can be found when you spend some time taking the picture in!

I’ve been there. You made a great shot from your black and white treatment. Perfect and much better than if it were in color.
