SEA-nic
It pays to get out early, even when the forecast the day before says its going to rain. You never know when Mother Nature will smile down on you. While the title of this post suggests otherwise, this is actually a bay…Georgian Bay to be exact. Georgian Bay is referred too as the 6th Great Lake but in the 1800’s a decision was made that it should be part of Lake Huron. While it acts like a Great Lake, creating its own weather, waves and current its separated from Lake Huron by the Bruce Peninsula.
That is a natural color variation in the water. I did use a 2-stop ND Grad to darken the sky.

Nice play on words with that title 😉 I am still in awe at how nature finds a way to survive and grow. In this case, those pine trees growing on rock, and surviving in a pretty solid matter.

With those waves, you could convince viewers that this isn’t just one of the Great Lakes but even the shore of an ocean. You’re the first person I’ve ever encountered who’s been to Georgian Bay.

Beautiful Edith. I’ve just bought a 2 stop ND filter to help with longer exposures when I’m at the coast. The effect of a longer exposure on the sea is so interesting as you’ve demonstrated brilliantly here. 🙂

Thanks so much Chillbrook. The filter that I used was a graduated 2 stop ND filter which helped tone down the sky. The smoothness of the wave coming in was as a result of a slow shutter speed which was 1/3sec.
