Pass the Jelly
I can hear the groan from here. It’s not easy coming up with post titles you know 🙂
The Monterey Bay Aquarium sits right on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. The aquarium was founded in 1984 and sits on the former site of a sardine cannery in Cannery Row. One of the star attractions is the Jelly Experience. These jelly fish are just mesmerizing to watch as they float up and down in the water.  I set my ISO to 2000 which allowed me to capture these images in such low light. There was a bit of noise but Topaz DeNoise took care of that 🙂
Click on the images to enlarge (they really do look better) or to Purchase a Print.
Wonderment. Well done.

Jellyfish are my favorites to shoot when I visit aquariums and these images show why Edith. Their translucent bodies along with their tentacles make each shot a unique one. Great work with these.

Jellyfish are lovely, really….except when they brush up against your leg in the sea. And thank you for the lighting tips, we’re heading to the Geogria Aquarium next week once school begins. Should be quieter and less crowded I hope. Beautiful photos!

I dove again today. No jellyfish so far. I guess I’m glad to avoid the sting. These are great shots and I’d never have guessed aquarium.

I really like the jellyfish photographs, but I wonder why they are swimming head down. I assumed, they were always swimming by keeping their head/body above their tentacles.
well done!

These are absolutely beautiful images. Great colours and such delicate and elegant movements you have captured of the jelly fish. I love them but my favourite is the first one for it’s simple composition and great use of negative space.
