Carmel Mission Interior
On Wednesday I posted an image of the front exterior of the mission. Here’s a look at the inside….
This was a bracketed exposure shot handheld. It was quite dark inside so I cranked up the ISO to 3200. I would have liked to have had the whole place to myself but that was not to be. I guess I could have cloned the people out of the picture but decided to keep them in.
Click on the image to enlarge (it really does look better) or to purchase a print.
I would leave the people in the shot. They are not taking up too much space in the picture or blocking what most people would want to see – the alter. Plus they help to bring the shot to life.

Lovely shot (and I agree with Mark, leave the people in).
I’ve taken lots of cathedral/church images but the ones I like best usually turn out to have a few people scattered through the pews (otherwise the image looks too much like a postcard).

Very nice, Edith!
I agree with, Mark. The few people that are in the image are not a distraction.

It seems to me that pictures of churches look best with the people in them.

I know that photographer’s feeling of wanting to be by myself. Sometimes we get our wish and sometimes we don’t.
