A Change of Colours
It’s been a whirlwind weekend but I’m not complaining. On Saturday Denise Ippolito arrived in Toronto, as scheduled, to conduct 4 workshops and a seminar for my camera club. I had the absolute pleasure of having dinner with Denise on Saturday and attending Nuit Blanche in downtown Toronto. Not only is Denise an incredibly talented photographer and teacher but she is an awesome person.
The forecast was calling for rain and thunder showers all weekend and both workshops on Sunday were outdoors. Needless to say I was checking the forecast multiple times a day leading up to the weekend. The forecast didn’t change but boy did we get lucky. On Sunday morning we drove out to Rockwood Auto Yard. When we arrived there was a light drizzle and a foggy mist which hung in the air providing beautiful light and a mysterious mood. The rain held out and the 3 hours flew by.
I have a lot of images to go through but here’s one of the first I processed last night. After some minor adjustments in Photoshop I used Topaz Clarity to give it a bit of detail and increased the luminosity in the reds and oranges. don’t forget you can get 15% off on Topaz products using the discount code ELPHOTO.

Super composition and I love the details and textures Edith. I am seeing Denise at a seminar later this month. I haven’t seen one of her seminars yet but I am sure that if it is anything like her workshops, it will be a learning experience.

Autumn has arrived and you captured a small touch of its surprises. Thanks for introducing me to Denise. She’s actually teaching a workshop near me. I’m not sure that weekend is possible. Will await your posts with other images from the workshop.

Thanks Sally. If you get the opportunity to attend one of Denise’s workshops jump at it. I’ve tried for a couple of years to book myself on one and the timing just never worked out. Now that I’ve done 2 I’m ready for more.

Thank you so much Denise. It was a pleasure meeting you. The workshops and seminar were fantastic and I know that the attendees learned a lot and really enjoyed themselves (myself included). It’s always nice to meet someone you’ve been “friends” with online and then discover they’re even nicer in person. 😀
