Red Truck Grunge
Happy Monday Everyone. I hope that those that got hit by all the snowstorms this weekend have managed to shovel themselves out. We got about 10cm on Saturday and we finally got the driveway cleared yesterday.
I was processing some more images from my Rockwood Autoyard shoot (boy am I behind in processing) and I came across this image of a dilapidated red pick-up truck. When I first saw it I knew it was the perfect candidate for some HDR work. This was a 3 exposures processed in Photomatix and then in Photoshop and Topaz Clarity to give it an additional subtle pop.
Click on the image to enlarge (it really does look better) or to Purchase a Print.
Looking Grungy Good!

Edith this turned out fabulous…I have yet to process mine of that old wreck. Dug myself out of the snow but this morning was -26 C at home…yikes!

Thanks so much Andrew. I know I am so behind on my processing its not even funny. It is really cold up your way. It was only -8 in the city this morning. Stay warm.

What a wonderful find, Edith!
Love the old, weathered heaps. They make for great artwork and photos. Something about that connection to times gone by. 🙂

Beautiful shot of the old truck. One of the problems in that sort of picture, is the temptation to go with the colors to the extreme. I like the way you kept the scene moderate, while at the same time bringing out the color.

There is such beauty in old vehicles … trucks in particular. Nostalgic, romantic, fascinating. So very lovely, Edith!

Clever choice of viewpoint to get that view through into the cab – the rusting cab provides ideal framing. Was this taken on the shoot with Denise?
