Weekly Photo Challenge – Object
It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in the Weekly Photo Challenge. I keep meaning too but life has just been too hectic. While I was processing more images from Prospect Park I came across this one. At the time I almost walked right past this and then I stopped and turned back as the pink caught my eye. When you come across something that’s out of place do you ever wonder what the story behind it is? I know I do and in this instance I imaged a little girl dropping her gloves while playing in the park. Mom probably didn’t notice because she was busy focusing on the child and not on a mere object, as it should be. Somebody walking by probably found these gloves on the ground and placed them on the post in hopes of the owner finding them. I wonder if the owner ever did come back to look for them?
Hope your all having a good weekend.
funny 🙂

You could be 100% correct in your story. In fact, I’ll almost bet that’s exactly the way it happened, although the mother might not have been present when the gloves were dropped. I guarantee that if a child dropped her bright pink gloves in the presence of her mother, she would have immediate seen them. That’s what mothers do. 🙂
Meanwhile, why don’t you come check out my photo challenge entry at

Nice capture. I see this kind of stuff all the time when out on the trail. A glove, a hat, water bottles, even a really nice trekking pole. And I think you hit the nail right on the head, they get placed within easy view of the trail in hopes that their rightful owner will come along and collect them.

That’s a cool way to make something very boring fun looking. Great work!

Sorry, I didn’t mean ‘boring’, that came off a little harshly. I meant, more precisely, “ordinary”.
