A First Look At The Treasury
After walking the almost 1.5km through The Passage you come to an opening and get a first glimpse at Petra’s most important monument, The Treasury.
Click on the image to see it in full resolution (it really does look better) or to Purchase a print.
This is a pretty amazing view and great shot, Edith. A Natty Geo style image. 🙂
Must have been quite a thrill to have experienced this.

Quite extraordinary. I imagine this is one of those situations where a camera can never do justice to what lies before you. And that’s not meant to indicate a deficiency on your part Edith – it’s a great image – but sometimes scale and majesty can be just beyond the capacity of any camera. I know this from some of my own experiences. I would love to see this with my own eyes.

You’re absolutely right Andy. It is quite majestic and I tried my best to do it justice but it really must be experienced in person.

Love the composition, nice shot. A place to make you think about all who’ve gone before us and a reminder to “seize the day”. Happy travels!
