Cypress Trees of San Quirico D’Orcia

The town of San Quirico D’Orcia lies halfway between Pienza and Montalcino right on a hilltop (don’t they all in Tuscany). Just before you arrive in San Quirico you’ll pass by a crop of Cypress trees which are probably the most photographed in all of Tuscany.

I was hoping for rolling green hills, which is what you’re supposed to get in the summer but that was not to be. Still I loved standing there and photographing these tree and the area. I will share more in future posts.

  2. Ah those cypresses….yes, I have a photo of them! I love the Crete Senesi around San Quirico, and hope I’ll get back one day.

  3. I was there also a few months ago- you just have to walk down the bridge and stand right in the middle of it to get the whole view and the best angle 😉 I had someone with me to tell and show me 🙂

    • Thanks Ruth. You’re right I spent quite some time getting different compositions. I will share those as well.
