Writing with Light

Edificio Elena

I walked by this building in Old Havana and just loved the way the shadows were falling against it and how it brought out the pastel colours.

After some minor processing in Lightroom I used Topaz Impression to give this building the artistic flair it deserved.

  9. I can see why this caught your eye; the beautiful pastel colours combined with the strong, angular shadows and geometric lines of the doors and windows – perfect!

So Edith, I’m curious (and I hope it’s not rude to ask) how much different the image would look without the Topaz. I really don’t know Cuba or Topaz …

    • It’s not rude at all Laurie. I should have posted the original as well. Fundamentally the original is the same but Topaz Impression soften the pastel colors and gave it more texture. I will post the original (hopefully this week). 🙂

  22. This image is full of the strength of the Caribbean sun, gently washing the colours of the building. Lovely to see a familiar photographer featured by WordPress!
