La Rambla
Everyone told me it was touristy…they were right. I was told it was crowded…correct. I was warned that the restaurants and stores were expensive…yup. But to go to Barcelona and not take a stroll on La Rambla now that would be a missed opportunity. Everyone should experience it at least once.

One of these days I’ll dig out an old photograph (circa 1960’s) of a winter which saw snow in Barcelona and La Rambla and all the flower-stalls wore a blanket of white. I only need about half a day to dig through my years of holiday photos (slides, of course, in those days) but if I can find it I’ll scan it in and post it. Your photo brought back many memories, not least a concert in the Opera House there starring Vittoria de los Angeles.
