Global Warming

I was envisioning this, as the final outcome for this image, when I shot it but I just wasn’t sure it would work. This was taken in Page, Arizona as we were waiting to be picked up by our guide to see the slot canyons.

Desert Break

Earlier this week I posted a Black & White portrait of a rider and his camel. (You can see that post here). Clearly this duo fascinated me because they made such terrific subjects. Don’t you love how they’re both looking in the same direction…again 🙂

Have a great weekend everyone.

A Walk in the Judean Hills

When I first go through images from a shoot I mark the keepers (and the ones that I’m going to process), delete the technically poor ones and then there are the ones that are technically ok but just don’t jump out at me.  Every so often I go through my archives and see something in an image that I didn’t see before. This was taken a few years back on a trip to Israel. We were in the Judean Hills not far from Jerusalem. It was mid-day and the sun was very harsh so the original image was washed out but when I looked at it again I really liked the way the tree was shaped. It almost looks like its going for a walk. I re-processed the image with a vintage monochrome look and really liked the way it came out. What do you think?

Weekly Photo Challenge – Silhouette

I took this a couple of years ago while in Israel. While doing a jeep tour in the desert around Eilat we stopped at sunset to build a fire in order to brew some tea and make some pita bread. This fella showed up, probably hoping we’d leave something behind. We had a bit of a stare down before he scampered off the other side of this ridge.
