Broken

If you’ve been following my blog and have looked at my travel photography then you know how much I love photographing unique bicycles leaning up against distinctive looking buildings.  Well I came across this bicycle and while not normally what I would be attracted too it was too good to pass up.

Fermentation Station

Just as I was heading back to my car after shooting in Kensington Market I spotted this little table set up in a deli which just drew me in. I wish I could remember the name of the store but I can’t (I really should use that little moleskin notebook I carry in my camera bag more often). I walked in, asked the owner if he would mind if I took some pictures and he kindly said yes.

I processed this image in Photoshop and then used Topaz Clarity to give it a little punch. Today’s the last day to purchase Topaz Clarity at its introductory price. You can click here to purchase or download a free trial.

Patience is a Virtue

Remember “Uggie” from my Life in the City post. Well here he is again but this time he brought a friend. They were both very patient while waiting for their human to come out.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Life in the City

Last weekend I attended a photo walk, with my photography club,  in Kensington Market. While waiting for everyone to arrive I made a new friend. I wish I knew his real name but I call him Uggie. Uggie was waiting for his owner to come out of a coffee shop and he was so darn cute I decided he’d make a good photographic subject.  I took a couple of shots from a crouching position and wasn’t happy with the perspective. I knew I needed to get as low as I could to get the POV I was looking for. Lying flat on m stomach wasn’t an option because that would mean my legs would be out in the middle of the road so I placed the camera flat on the sidewalk and took the shot.

Project 52 – Entry #25

Back to Kensington Market for today’s post. I love graffiti don’t you. I love the artistry, the bold colors and in this case the fact that it fits the character of the neighbourhood. The store right next to this alley way was a….yup you guessed it….a fish market.

This was 3 bracketed exposures tonemapped in Photomatix. I then used the new Topaz Adjust 5 plugin. applying the Spicify filter in the new Vibrant Collection. Topaz Labs just released the new upgrade yesterday. The new Adjust 5 is a free upgrade for current Adjust owners.

If you’re new to Topaz, the company is offering a 30% discount until 11/30/11 or the 30% discount can be applied towards a bundle or bundle upgrade. Just enter coupon code “ADJUSTME”. Click here to go to Topaz Labs.
