The Surfer

An early morning shoot that yielded no significant sunrise but the early spring fog and the cool weather provided for a good backdrop. The surfers were out as were the joggers and little ole me with my tripod and gear getting ready to do some long exposures on the beach in Tel Aviv.

This surfer came out of the water and I was able to pivot and turn quickly to capture this shot.

Tel Aviv Beach in Motion

Regardless of the season, regardless of the time of day, the beaches in Tel Aviv are in perpetual motion. Whether its the sunbathers; joggers or surfers there’s also activity. It’s one of the things I most love about Tel Aviv.

Zuma Beach

It’s Friday…yahoo…and with the weather getting chilly in my neck of the woods (and maybe yours) I thought I’d kick off the weekend with some warmer thoughts. Have a great one everybody!

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Panorama

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk amusement park is exactly that. An amusement park right on the beach. The boardwalk has been in operation since 1907 and is one of the last seaside amusement parks in the United States.

This image is a 12 frame panorama that I shot from the beach. I didn’t have my tripod with me so did the pivot / swivel in the sand trying to stay as level as I could. Photoshop Elements did a great job of merging the images but at one point I thought my Mac was going to blow up. Once the merge was complete I ran the image through Topaz Clarity to give it some punch and that was it.

Half Moon Bay

One of our first stops on our drive down the Pacific Coast Highway was Half Moon Bay in San Mateo County. It was mid morning and the fog was still hanging on. I was surprised to have the beach all to myself but I certainly wasn’t complaining.
