iPhone Friday – Street Art at Gordon Beach – Tel Aviv

It’s been awhile since I’ve dedicated a Friday to iPhoneography and I thought it was time. I found myself leaving my big DSLR behind on most days this trip. On the days that I gave myself a break from lugging around the monster my iPhone was getting a workout.

These images were taken at Gordon beach in Tel Aviv. Along a section of the promenade wall an artist created the most amazing beach scenes that made people stop in their tracks.

Cabbagetown Corner Convenience

Cabbagetown is a neighbourhood on the east side of downtown Toronto. Last fall my photography club held a photo outing at Riverdale Farms which is in Cabbagetown. After we were done shooting at the farm we all met at a restaurant for lunch. I decided that I had a little time before the meet up time and decided to do a little street photography.

As I’m sure you know from some of my previous posts I love street art and am usually in awe of the talent of street artists. I came across this mural and it certainly disappointment.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Manhattan Eye Candy

Here’s another extraordinary piece of street art from my time in Manhattan. This one was in Little Italy and before you ask I didn’t “almost” miss this. This beauty caught my eye right away.

I used Topaz Detail to bring out  bit of the detail in the brick and adjust the saturation on each colour (individually) in Photoshop. Don’t forget you can download a free trial of any Topaz Labs product and use the code ELPhoto to save 15% off the regular price.

A Most Unusual Gin

Walking through Soho one day I almost missed this mural. Can you imagine? I was talking and not paying attention but luckily, as I was about to cross the street a car was coming through the intersection which made me stop. When I looked across the street this is what I saw.

iPhone Friday – Puddle Reflections

One of the workshops led by Denise Ippolito was at Graffiti Alley in Toronto. I’ve shot here before and the street art is just amazing. Unfortunately I couldn’t participate in the workshop as I had to work but it is only 5 minutes from my office so I walked over to say to the group. Of course while I was there I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by without taking a few iPhone shots and this reflection was just to good to pass up.

Shot with my iPhone 4S and edited with HDR FX Pro.

iPhone Friday – Back to Graffiti Alley

As I mentioned in last week’s instalment of iPhone Friday I took so many images during my little walk through Graffiti Alley that I decided to split them into two posts. So without further ado….

iPhone Friday – A Little Street Art

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting up with photographer Mike Murphy who was in Toronto on business. Between both of our schedules it was a bit of challenge to meet up but on his second to last day we managed to meet for an hour during lunch. So what do two photographers do during a short meet…grab a quick coffee at Starbuck’s and head over to graffiti alley to shoot some awesome street art. I didn’t have my DSLR with me that day but I did manage to take some shots with my iPhone. Actually I took so many that I will probably post some more images of this little excursion next week.
