Battered

As some of you may or may not know I’m a member of a photography club and in late September some of the members met at the Distillery District for an evening photo walk followed by dinner. I’ve been to so focused (no pun intended) on my images from Italy that I didn’t get a chance to process my images from that outing until this weekend.

There’s still plenty of Italy images that I’ll share but thought I would take a break this week and share a few images that are closer to home.

The Distillery is located east of Downtown Toronto and displays the best preserved Victorian Industrial Architecture in North America. I’ll share more of the history of this wonderful place  in my next post.

Red Truck Grunge

Happy Monday Everyone. I hope that those that got hit by all the snowstorms this weekend have managed to shovel themselves out. We got about 10cm on Saturday and we finally got the driveway cleared yesterday.

I was processing some more images from my Rockwood Autoyard shoot (boy am I behind in processing) and I came across this image of a dilapidated red pick-up truck. When I first saw it I knew it was the perfect candidate for some HDR work. This was a 3 exposures processed in Photomatix and then in Photoshop and Topaz Clarity to give it an additional subtle pop.

Under the Hood

As promised here’s a shot from the Rockwood Autoyard of an actual vehicle in all its grungy goodness. This was 3 bracketed exposures merged in Photomatix. I used Topaz DeNoise to clean up a bit of noise as a results of the HDR.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Opposites Attract

This is another image taken at the Rockwood Autoyard last weekend. I know I haven’t shown you any pictures of the actual cars over the last few posts but I just loved this little vignette I came upon. As the group was heading out of the yard at the end of the shoot I spotted this little red tricycle just sitting there in front of these tires. I loved the juxtaposition of these two distinctly opposite items. It was like looking at these little baby wheels with its Mom and Dad.
